Creations From a While Back

I always have good intentions of blogging. However, more important things always push back the opportunity to sit down and blog. The opportunity is now, I need to delete the photos I have been meaning to post here.  So I will take a moment to share them.
Back in October, The Paper Pickle had a guest artist from Montreal. Check out Kim's posts Magenta trunk show details  and the big day on the event. Nathalie from Magneta Stamps shared with us her talents and some amazing pieces where created.
Here are my 3 cards:

I also recently made a sympathy card for our neighbourhood friends.

As for Christmas cards, I don't think that is happening this year.  I think I will start during my Christmas break for next year.

Have a great holiday season.

Digital 101 Class

I love photography and have decided it was time to continue to learn more about it.  I took a photo editing class last year with Flying Photo School.  I had purchased a Groupon coupon and used it for this class.  I learned a lot about editing.  But knew I could learn more.
So when I received an email regarding their Black Friday special I jumped at the chance to learn more.  They were offering 3 classes for less than the cost of 1 regular price class.  Great deal!
So January started and Digital 101 is now complete.  I am enrolled in classes until the end of March.
Each week you are to submit a photo based on the assignment.
Week 1:  Focus:  Program mode, White Balance,  and ISO

Week 2:  Focus:  Shutter Speed Priority Mode

Week 3:  Focus:  Aperture Priority Mode

Week 4:  Focus:  Lighting Compensation and Culmination of course

Until next time :)

Christmas Cards

I have always loved sending and receiving Christmas cards.  In years past, I would spend hour and hours making my own cards. The last couple of years, I used Shutterfly and made photo cards. This year I decided I would make cards again. I would then print family photos for family members. To get the 60 + cards completed on time,  my mom and I went to 2 classes together, I attended a class on my own and then produced some of my own.

Now that Christmas is past I can share some photos of my cards.

The first class we went to was put on by several Stampin' Up consultants. It was called "It's a 'Single' Christmas" Event. We used a single stamp on each type of card with various techniques. We made 2 of each of these cards.

My mom and I

We also went to the Paper Pickle and did a class making the following 2 cards. The right card also became one of my cards in a slightly different manner. I made several in this mauve colour. The one on the left is likely going to be something you see next year in a slightly different format.

I went to another class through my Stampin' Up consultant. We made 12 cards that night and then I made another 12 later with my mom.

The last card I made this year, I had inspiration from a number of different cards I had seen over the years. I put some of the ideas together and this card became one of my all time favourites.

You may ask, how did you determine who gets which card?  It is totally random for the most part. Those that needed a photo tended to get the larger cards if it needed to be mailed away. Other than that, it was eenie meenie miney mo.
If you did not receive one of these cards above, you received a card that I made a number of years ago and I just didn't have a photo to include it.
Hope you enjoyed my post. Next time I will blog about the DIY Projects I did for gifts this year. Until then….
