Artfest

It has been an artfest at our house since we have returned from vacation in July.  Jaelyn and Ava went to the children's program at Elim Lodge and became used to their daily craft time.  Currently they are making art with egg cartons, paper, glue, scissors, goggly eyes, markers.  Let's just say we have a mess.

Crafttime

The whole reason I came on here to blog was to show off the cards we made last week for Grandpa Roffel's 75th birthday.  We went to the Paper Pickle and selected stamps to rent.  Then we picked paper, coloured, used the Cuttlebug to get texture on our background paper, and put it all together.  I used Copic markers and they used their pencil crayons.
Here are our results.

Craft Time

Jaelyn and Ava's new passion is craft time.  All they talk about is doing crafts.
On Easter weekend we started our "craft time"  with decorating Spring Cookies (they are no longer called Easter Cookies…something that disturbed me…).  Check out our crafts below.

On Easter Monday, I was home with the girls and it was all about crafts again.  It started with making homemade birthday cards for their cousins, Jessica and Hayley, then it was the finger painting and oops I forgot to take pictures.  We ended the day making banana muffins…..more fun.

So this past week Ava asked me if I could stay home one day so I could go crafts with her and make cupcakes with icing.  I told her it had to wait for the weekend and was really touched that she wanted me to stay home with her.  So after waiting weeks for Linda's class at the Paper Pickle the day finally came.  I was super excited about this class.  Here is my finished product.  I am going to make another one because I made several mistakes and wasn't quite happy with the result.  However, every project is never the same and very unique.  I learned lots and can't wait for more craft time where I can get dirty.
My project
I returned from my class and Ava and Jaelyn made cupcakes with a little help.  Their new passion is baking…something I greatly dislike but I don't want to limit their interests and went with it.

Finally a New Post

So it has been forever it seems since I have last updated my crafting blog.
Part of it has been that I needed to take pictures of my projects and the fact that I haven't had much time for crafting.  As summer approaches hopefully we can change this.
#1.  Several weeks ago I took Deb's Mixed Media class at The Paper Pickle

#2.  I went to a crop in St. Thomas with my mom and sister Linda.  I got 8 pages done in the girls albums.  I am now at their 1st 6 weeks of life.  I am doing similar but different pages for their albums.

Hopefully I can do some more projects soon.  My kids love crafts so we will see if we can do anything fun on Easter Monday.
